I am talking about these collages over six months after I completed the last one. This one has the night lights from Hong Kong as a background. And a hammock drawn across the bottom. Design took precedence, obviously.
Hollis, I’ve enjoyed this series! This one is striking. You say design took precedence here, but I think the subject matter is fertile as well: a city that never sleeps, inverted in a hammock. Your apposition of these incongruous images creates a new feeling that’s very different from what’s inherent in the source material.

Thank you. I do think if people think the subject is part of my focus here, that it is subliminal. I really did this with composition in mind! The pieces are kind of eerie though huh? 🙂
