New Work.
Following the Holiday Season, and after it becomes 2014, I will be posting my new work. I have established a theme and visuals. I actually cannot wait to get back into this blogging business. The most fun of my last show! (“AFLOAT: An Installation”)
This piece above was done in mixed media. It is 8″ x 8″ and is on 2″ board. I am showing it at Ceres Gallery’s 30th Anniversary Group Exhibition, opening January 14, 2014. I just finished it last week. It is not framed, but I sent it to Ceres anyway, because the deadline was approaching. The reception for this show is January 16th!
I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday Season and try not to expect too much. That’s when things get to be tense. Just look around at the lights and the glitter and be happy!
I like the look of this new work Hollis – and for us in the UK the title is very appropriate today – we’ve had torrential rain all day!
Looking forward to blogging back and forth with you and to see which direction your creativity takes.
It’s been great fun this year – Happy Christmas, Merry New Year and see you on the other side (that’d be 2014!) Best wishes, Jenny x

Jenny, did you see the movie “Resurrection” with Ellen Burstyn? (30 year old movie at least) Ellen’s character says to her grandmother “See you on the other side!” (last time visiting her) Glad you qualified it. Haha. Yes, this week I will be back into the blogging world. Can’t wait. Hope you have not given up on me……I have about three of your posts to catch up on!

Hi Hollis – was beginning to worry about you – but I see you’ve been busy busy!
See you soon in blogland… I’m building up to a work – related rant which I’m not sure if I’ll post 🙂

I know the feeling. There are rants and there are rants! I could use a good rant right now from you. 🙂 I am working up to one myself. Always. 🙂

I like the name of the gallery – Ceres.
Do you think you are going explore more abstract themes with your work?
This one looks a bit like a map to me!
Have a Happy Christmas if I don’t see you before then!

Oh Denise! I have missed blogging! Yes, I am going to incorporate my collage technique (always with me) with more abstract workings this upcoming series. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, or at the very least, nice.

Oh, Amanda! Thank you so much. I am going to be back, I promise. I have written a bunch of blogs. I just have to get back in the studio to do the visuals. One of my other followers said you all would be here when I get back: No rush. So I am hoping that is so. I have a lot of reading to catch up on as I want to know how everyone has been. Especially you with your brood!
