Have you ever tried to solve a mystery? Something in your daily life you can’t quite figure out, but you have a gut feeling about? Have you combined your intuition with some facts surrounding the situation and BAM! you have it the solution. Or have you? Has this ever happened to you?
The Chinese say that intuition is a “second brain”, physically located in your stomach. Hence the “gut feeling” expression.
Most people do not trust their intuition enough! When I try to solve a problem using my intuition, it feels like stepping out on a cloud, walking off a plank, taking a shot at something. It feels a little strange. People think they need facts alone to solve problems and mysteries. That to use intuition could not possible be sound.
But, as I said in the first paragraph, I put some facts with my intuition and…..well, I can solve almost anything. Can you?
Hollis, this is fabulous! Love how that bust of George Washington emerges from the flames! Intuition is indeed a powerful thing.

Thanks Patricia! Tomorrow’s post is even stranger and silly. I have a friend “in” astrology. She says tomorrow will be a very trying day for all of us. Let’s all rely on our intuition!

Hollis, I just published a new post about this EXACT trying day, Friday, June 13th, when I drove up to Connecticut for the group show of metalwork!! It rained like I’ve never seen, nor did I think I would remain alive through that disaster of storms that NYC and New England had that day. Your friend in astrology must have a true gift—-the gift of accuracy!! Happy 4th of July to you!

Yeah, it’s all been a strange series of days, hasn’t it? But that one was a doosy, as they say.I can’t wait to read your blog. I have been thinking about that show you had. Was hoping it went well!

This piece is so provocative Hollis. It screams a message that viewers must uniquely interpret based on their own situation at that moment. The way the two central images are juxtaposed (George on one side; the open mouth spewing out those objects) could carry so many different aspects of meaning. Speaking truth to power is what comes to mind for me. How often do we do that with boldness for fear our words might get us in trouble.

I’m so happy you’re participating, Hollis! Yes, Luanne was great and so was Dianna today. I’m learning so much about everyone and that was the point of the summer spotlight. I can wait for yours and Jenny’s post. 🙂

I’d like to think I could solve anything but some things can be tricky; they take a bit longer to work through. Gut instinct works for a lot of situations though. Interesting post, Hollis!

Yes some things are very tricky.Lately, I have found also, that if I do the old thing of “sleeping on it”, the problem will be easier to solve in the morning. I guess I have found out about my intuition backwards: If I don”t follow it, I realize it had been there to guide me and I should have listened! Heavy stuff, huh? 🙂

Seems like my intuition works best for me when I am awakened in the middle of the night. Things seem to get solved then. I have always dealt with things mostly from my gut feelings. Do like the post!

You are lucky you have such a reliable access to it like that: in the middle of the night!!!!

My mother in law used to say she did her best thinking at night! I think she was being sarcastic though!

I love what you had to say in this post. Of course I depend on my intuition. And yes, I heed it well. I pick up vibes from people and situations that in my youth, I would ignore. However, I am older, wiser, and much more in-tune with my vibe-y sense 🙂
Thank you for the great read. I look forward to reading much more. ~v.
