Please do not watch video if you suffer from epilepsy or complicated migraines!
Above is a very short video I took with my iPhone last night. It is a video of something called Steve Spangler’s Energy Stick. My daughter is activating the Energy Stick by touching the metal ends on the device. Its copy on the packaging (which I have never removed) says, “Watch Your Body Conduct Electricity!”
Moods can be contagious. A positive person can make us happy. The New Age considers every person to be encircled by an energy field. Ben Franklin, it is a common fact, made huge advances in the study of electrical storms and how, even beyond the practical application of electricity in our lives today, there is a rush and charge in the air when an atmospheric change such as a storm is about to occur.
The Energy Stick was given to me last Christmas by my husband. My mother had passed away four days before. In trying out the Energy Stick, since it was my present, I discovered there was no sound and no lights. Like the stick displayed for my husband and daughter! It was because of my grief over the loss of my mother that the stick did not respond to my energy. I threw it in my closet. Almost in the trash!
I pulled out the Energy Stick from my closet recently and touched the metal ends. To my great relief and surprise, my grief was subsiding! The sounds and colors were there!
A separate example of the manifestation of energy, was four years ago with my friend Lorraine. She accompanied me on a business trip to New York. We both were in a happy mood, even though I was there on business. Although solo art exhibitions are a positive thing for the artist – a time to celebrate, share and reflect – It is still business. I was in New York, being given a special reception this time, in addition to the customary opening reception where I was also in attendance the week before. We had enormous crowds the first time, over three hundred people came to see my video, “Bread In The Sky.” Therefore, I felt Lorraine and I could take a quick break to venture upstairs to the top floor of the gallery‘s building. We were drawn to the end of the hallway, and ended up hanging out the window, laughing about how, right there in Manhattan, a window could swing open into the “fresh” air! Looking right toward the Hudson River a block or so away, we marveled at the blue light, lightning and wind. There was the smell of ozone in the air.
When we returned to the gallery downstairs, Lorraine touched my silver bracelets by accident. She got a shock! My bracelet vibrated! It was as if my phone was on vibrate and someone was trying to reach me.
In the cab the next day, the driver told us about two tornadoes touching down in New York City the night before. And how it took him nine hours to get home due to fallen trees and power lines. On TV, Lorraine and I discovered the path of one of the tornadoes went directly through Chelsea. Through West 27th Street. Our window. Our fun. We were in the middle of the storm! In fact, my silver bracelets were probably struck by lightning!
Do you, my blogger friends, have any experience with energy, electrical and other?

It’s a longstanding joke in our family and among my friends the effect I have on electricity and batteries. It’s too embarrassing to write in public, lol. This was a fun post although I am sorry to hear that you lost your Mother, that is a very hard thing that never quite leaves you.

Great post, Hollis! I definitely agreement with your thoughts on moods being contagious. Many years ago, I used to allow co-worker’s bad moods effect me, but not anymore.
I get shocked all of the time, even during the summer months, not sure what that means. 🙂

I had a friend who was greeted by her boss everyday by him giving her a dirty look. Finally she said, “Why do you give me dirty looks all the time?” He stopped. She had carried all that negativity around with her until she addressed it. Thanks, Jill for the comments. Looking forward to your post this Friday. The first in twenty weeks not about someone else!!!! 🙂

I’m glad your friend confronted her boss, not many people would do that…good for her. I feel sorry for people who go through life mean and miserable.
Thank, Hollis! I’m looking forward to Friday as well. You all are great! 🙂

Let’s put it this way Hollis. I have a healthy respect for lightning and anything electrical. When I was twenty I went sailing with friends of mine and when we noticed the weather was changing we headed back to shore. When I stepped off the catamaran and onto the beach lightning struck a few feet away from me and I was thrown to the ground. It happened again in my thirties. Luckily I was never actually struck. I would love one of those sticks 😀 I believe our energy levels influence everything so I doubt I’d leave the house without first testing my mood. Great post 🙂

Thank you Yolanda. Amazing story about the two times you were closely affected by lightning. I think I would have been terrified to be thrown to the ground like that! Yes there is a lot to be said for the force field that surrounds all things. It is invisible so we don’t talk about it that much! Thanks for your comments!

That tornado must’ve been a sign Hollis. How exciting, though, to be the centre of all that energy. I do believe that we create different energies but that these are dictated a little by the other people around us. There are some folk who definitely drain all my energy and I don’t know why. Others can most definitely be energising. Is it to do with personalities too, I wonder. Fascinating subject. Are there colours in energy? We could go on with this …. 😊

I don’t know about colors, but I do know that I feel tired after being with some people. I guess they get energy from me and take mine away. I should stay away!

I am sorry that you lost your mother. I am bereft for you, it is awhile ago, but still less than a year and it is good that you have changed your energy. I think it is very ‘telling’ that it stayed black and would not ignite. My sorrow will be such for quite awhile, when I lose my own Mom. I am glad I read this, so now I can picture you going through this. Hugs for sharing this, Hollis.
Now, on to energy! I love the idea of everyone having auras, also that some people have sparks on the ends of their fingertips. I would be so excited if there were a big storm close by, passing with all that charged electric energy, as long as I wasn’t thrown down like our friend, Yolanda! That was awesome how you and your friend were looking out at Brooklyn, out the window and later finding out the storm had passed you, giving you a charge! Blue light, lightning and all! The silver bracelet conductive! Wow!

Hi Robin! Yes, it was interesting to think a storm had actually touched me. Thank you for your condolences! I am hoping you are having a good week!

You know what? Hollis, I think you have a gift for living through disasters, you also had a bonding experience with your close friend, too. I came over here to figure out the proper term for your husband’s pie analysis. I called it a “Pie-O-Meter,” but need to go back a few posts. It was in a reply to your comment about rose’s double meaning with you two love birds, smiles!

Yes, A Pie O Meter is probably more appropriate. And yes, I have lived through quite a few disasters. And am attracted visually to natural disasters! Always wondered why. Maybe that’s it! Thanks, Robin!

I noticed there was a very cute puppy in your video…have you tried to see if your animal could power your energy stick by placing her left paw on the top of the stick and her right paw on the bottom of the stick?

Well, Pan, first off, thanks for commenting! Secondly, believe it or not, I did try, but my dog kept pulling away. I think that shows an intelligent respect for electricity! Maybe we humans could learn from that! 🙂

Wow Hollis, what an incredible story. Electricity is something that definitely scares me. I used to not be able to wear watches when I was younger as they always went too fast. Someone once said it was because I had too much electricity in my body, but I’m not sure I believed it. Although I did go through a phase of worrying I might spontaneously combust, ha 😉
What an amazing thing to know the tornado passed right by you …maybe your bracelets saved you 🙂
Again, I am so sorry for the loss of your dear mother and it’s lovely to know that you have your ‘spark’ back even though she will always be missed.
Also, just to let you know Hollis, although I signed up to follow you a while ago, I haven’t been getting notifications of your posts so I do apologise for missing so many. I thought perhaps you hadn’t posted in a while…so glad I came over to check. I realise that I didn’t check the notify me of new posts via email below…duh..but that is now rectified. You can’t get rid of me that easily. See you soon 🙂

Sherri, I am so happy that you are back! Yes, I am behind. This video posting challenged me, as I told you.
I never thought that the bracelets might have saved me. but you might be right: the current went through the bracelets not me. (We actually weren’t too swift hanging out that window either.) But sometimes fun is needed. Hope you get the notifications now. I don’t think I have been getting yours either. But you have been on my mind…..And today is my day for straightening some things out!

Well, I know I am a very “shock-y” person. I shock myself on everything, even when it’s not cold out! In fact, if I walk through a grocery store pushing a cart that doesn’t have a plastic handle (just metal), I can feel a little surge of electricity go through my hands with every few steps.

Mareymercy, that is very interesting! I have never heard of that. When we used to go to Sedona, AZ to visit my Dad, when he was alive, we would go to those vortexes. My husband would always get a shock when he got out of the car and touched the door handle. But I never was affected in that way. But Sedona is known for that sort of thing! Glad you commented, MM! Now I have to catch up and get in touch with you! ❤

I know. When I first used that device, I thought my energy level was either too high or too low to register! It was only when I tried it recently, that I attributed it to grief and recovery. I think my husband felt bad for giving it to me.

Only experience I’ve had with conducting electricity is when I get a large charge from touching my car’s metal parts or sometimes another person. That is quite a nifty little device though. Would love to have one. 🙂

Thank you for commenting, Elizabeth! Before the bracelet episode, that’s about the extent of mine also. The device is good, however, if you try it, feeling good and you don’t get a signal, it can be a bummer. Happy Halloween! 🙂
