This “Pie O Logy” post was one of my most liked among the readers. I thought I would reblog it. And include the newest entry: Blueberry!
People like different kinds of pies. And everyone has a favorite. My husband can assess your personality by what kind of pie you like. This method, he came up with in Junior High School and he calls it “Pie o logy.” I’ll start with Apple: You are a fairly basic, conservative person. However, if you are specific about the type of apples you like in your Apple Pie, such as Granny Smith or Macintosh, in any way specific, you have a secret side to you. Like you have a crush on Matt Lauer. Whose favorite pie, I am sure, is Apple. Cherry: You are a Liberal sort of person. You like National Public Radio. And you follow the party line. If you prefer a deep crust on your Cherry Pie, you are not as Liberal as you think you are. LIke you might secretly have voted for John McCain, but…

Hi Hollis, this was a brilliant post – I’ve just gone back and read all the comments – it’s so funny, just what I needed today! Does your husband detect personality traits via anything else but pies? I’m wondering about drinks. Could a favourite tipple be a dead giveaway?

Jenny, I just asked him and he said he is not a Drink o logist. but a Pie o logist. Glad you got a good laugh. I am at a new gym now and the guys are raving about pie o logy’s accuracy, hence Byron’s inquiry about blueberry.

We need an independent drink- ologist and then see if their deductions and observations come out the same as the famous Pie- ologist 😃

Yes, let’s get on that right away. I think maybe bartenders could give us a hand. If you and I lived closer, pen and paper in hand, we could go pub-crawling together! 🙂

Thanks. As they used to say in the movie business, “It has legs!” (Meaning it can play for a long time) So glad you enjoyed it again, Jill!

Loved the original. This is so fun! 🙂 I love apple pie but I love cherry cobbler more.

Kourtney. If you look in the comments, the pie o logist answered your cobbler question, in the original post, Number Twenty-Nine, even though he felt bad because he is not a cobbler o logist. He did say that while you might listen to NPR occasionally, you do not really pay attention to it. Now the apple pie, which you say, you really like, but like less, and since you like both, means that you are definitely a mix politically. some things you are quite conservative on, and other topics, more to the left. For instance, you may not believe in capital punishment, but you protest the amount of taxation and government interference going on. Things like that.

I am always happy to read again about your pie-loving detective husband, Hollis. I also liked the post where you were in a thrift store and a skirt was priced at an outrageous price! smiles! I think the Pie-ology could be on a Late Night Show or on SNL as a skit. It would make some money and produce some great laughs, too!

Thank you, Robin. I will tell Doug. I have found a lot of people at my gym are going crazy for his analyses. They think it is more accurate than astrology. So silly. You know you are off the deep end, when you are typing, (and this is true), ” when pecan and pumpkin are on the same plate…….” As for the thrift store blog, thanks too. I miss posting a lot now. But to be fair, I have to comment/read other blogs and time is short. I will get there, but it is hard for me to do. Thanks for your comments.
