Here is a little section of a very large painting I am working on for my April solo exhibition in New York. It is acrylic right now but soon will have a coat of oil paint to enrich the surface.

Can’t wait to see the whole thing. Would love to come to your show, but I don’t think the dates fit my term dates 😦 If it had been around Easter, I could have taken my main holiday break then. I think I will have to buy a work instead.

Wow Denise! That you would buy something is really special! But I am disappointed you are not able to come.I would love for everyone to get the chance to see these all at once. In a gallery. Thanks so much for commenting. I look for you and Jenny on my Reader and cannot find you.

It’s looking good, Hollis, I love those colours – green and pink. How large is large, I wonder? I often wonder how your creative process is going. How long each stretch in the studio is. Missing you on WordPress. I’m trying to concentrate on my creative writing but it’s not easy😁

Thank you, Jenny. Can’t find you on my Reader, BTdubs, as Lyla would say. This one is four by 6 feet. And I work in increments. Small increments. I don’t have the patience to work longer than four hours at a time. I miss you on WordPress too. I am going to start posting my progress. Maybe not as many posting as before, but definitely I will start posting again. I really miss it. If you can, you should try writing a little of your creative writing at a time. Ray Bradbury wrote a page a day.

I lose people and fave blogs on my reader all the time – it drives me nuts. I end up having to trace them and do a re- follow – it’s so irritating!
That’s good advice – write a little every day. I should do that, I know. And I try, even if it’s rubbish! Back to school tomorrow – a routine might help😀
Looking forward to seeing more of your postings xx

Jenny, can you tell I am a synaesthete?

Well, that’s an unfair question because I know already. But I’m drawn to your colours and the way they sit together. I’m still interested to know whether we all see colours the same. Same tone, same intensity ? Or do us synaesthetes see them differently. And if we do, is the way WE see them the same for all synaesthetes.

Looks like it’s coming along! Love how it looks so far! Will you show one large piece? Quite a contrast from all the small collages?

Thanks Marjie. No I won’t be showing any finished ones, because I want to finish everything first. Then I will. Revamp the website, etc. But I will blog about the process and I think that is fun and useful. Thanks for the comment!

Hi Hollis, it was nice to see you stopped by my blog site the other day. Thanks for taking the time. I’ve missed you. I can see you are very busy working on this piece and I’m sure others for your upcoming exhibition. I am drawn into this little section by the stark contrasts in color and the lovely texture of the piece. I love the way the pink in the middle sort of peeks its way through and there is something so delicious about the blues in the bottom right of this section. Can’t wait to see the whole piece when you are done!
Best,
Eli

I am in awe of this creative and meaningful painting, Hollis. I already have thoughts about what it may hold within its meaning. I am excited to know you spend 4 hours a day on your craft. This is excellent concentration and you can tell how much you put into this. Your painting has a fantastic look which captivates my imagination, Hollis. Congratulations on your Spring show plans!

Thanks, Robin! I spend four hours at a time when I am really focused! I have to look you up. So many of you do not appear on my Reader anymore. I added a “follow” thing at the bottom here so as not to lose so many favorites. I am always harping on this lately.
